The rat race has begun!

Day two and rehearsal is going really well. I was surprised how fast everyone was picking up the music today. We actually sang thru the entire show, as rough as it was. What a fun group of people — we sure are laughing lots already and today the women all had fittings. With all their high-heeled boots and tight-fitting corsets they want to have them early to rehearse in, so they can learn how to breathe and sing in the constricting costumes. Grace spent the day doing a number of rewrites from the read thru on Tuesday and Matt was simultaneously making music changes. I really like the music rehearsals — they do become tedious when they are just banging out the notes, but I get more of the music in my soul by hearing the actors learn the material. It was a helpful day. Everyone went out for a cocktail together at the end of the day, which is always a good bonding experience! I had another idea today about one of the songs, so we're working with just Jacqui in the morning on one of her solos. The rat race has really begun!
