Midnight Madness

On Friday after the show we all went for a cocktail and were talking about Nevermore. There’s been one number that’s landing really good, but I wanted it to land great. Suddenly, the light bulbs went off and I had an idea on how to make the song go thru the roof. I called Matt over and made sure his drink was in hand first before telling him what I was thinking. So Matt spent Saturday morning at the piano adding another vocal line to a song we rehearsed yesterday. I spent the morning on the phone with the lighting designer and the stage manager walking them thru the changes that we need to get in the show. So we went back into rehearsals to get the new song and staging changes in place for last night’s performance. So much for the show being frozen, but this is what’s great about doing a new musical — the work never stops as we continue to make the show the best it can be. Tonight I'm going to have to buy drinks for everyone who jumped thru hoops to get this new section in. Gotta love show business!
