SSA
Today we started rehearsals for the new musical SSA - ASS BACKWARDS that we’ve been developing. This coming-of-age story about four recent college grads was written by locals James Gardiner and Nick Blaemire who themselves are recent graduates from the University of Maryland and the University of Michigan, respectively. Today was music, music, music… we learned the entire score which is dense and has a number of difficult harmonies sprinkled throughout. I love how fresh and raw the material is which is perfect for the subject matter. We're doing a reading at Signature this Friday evening, August 11 at 7:00pm in our rehearsal room. We’re opening up a limited number of seats to the public, so if you’d like to attend, please e-mail Matthew Gardiner at gardinerm@signature-theatre.org to reserve tickets. Limit of 2 tickets per person. Tickets are free, but reservations are required due to the small number of seats. I'll keep you posted on the show throughout the week and introduce you to the cast as well. On Monday we’ll be in NYC for our presentation of the show at Joe's Pub.
