IT'S BEGINNING

ACE rehearsals are full speed ahead at the Snapple Center in New York. By the end of today, we will have hit all the music. And we’ll do our first read-sing through of the show. Everyone is so excited about this project... it's not often you get to work on a new, ORIGINAL musical that’s not based on pre-existing material. We're all psyched about it.

We're also going gung ho on all the technical aspects of the show. It’s very complicated with moving set pieces as well as projections. After each rehearsal we have production meetings to coordinate the efforts.

The music for the show has been glorious to hear. Jonathan Tunick spent the entire day with us listening to the leads. It was helpful for him to hear the voices as he is orchestrating the score — which has a total of 38 musical songs/sections. I am sure putting it all together today will be a great puzzle — the music and the dialogue fit so tightly together.

It's been wonderful hearing Flo Lacey, Emily Skinner, and Christiane Noll, all old friends of Signature, singing their hearts out. And to hear our newcomers like Matt Scott, Jill Paice (fresh from London), and Jim Stanek. It’s gonna’ be a great show!
