ACE-ING IT

Well, it’s been a crazy tech week to say the least. And we still have 8 more pages to tech.

Today, we had our sitzprobe, the first time the orchestra and cast rehearse together. And the orchestra sounds terrific! Tonight, we’ll be doing sound balance issues and tomorrow we finish teching the show. Next, we’ll put it all together with the orchestra for the first time as well as costumes.

We ended up canceling our first preview on Tuesday because some of the costumes are late in getting here from NYC. Everything was hand built for the entire show. Rather than have actors in just their underwear, I thought it was best to just cancel. It also gives us some more time on the show and all the technical aspects. You can never have enough time for tech!

The cast is in great spirits and we are all ready to add on the next layer to the process – the audience. We also continue to do re-writes at the same time so it's all a bit crazy but that is what makes the theater a great place to work and play.

We'll have dress rehearsals beginning Saturday evening and Sunday evening which will be great to get the show back up and running.

Hope to see you all soon!
