Last night, I took a number of cast members from SAVING AIMEE to see CRAVE which closes this Sunday. The cast of CRAVE is terrific and their performances are just wonderful.
This was my sixth time seeing the show, and each time I discover something new. The reaction tonight was wonderful. One SAVING AIMEE cast member came running up to me and said, “I just loved it. What great, challenging theater. I’m going to be thinking about this for days!” Then another patron came up to me and said, "How wonderful and daring to do this production as the first play in your new theater. I don’t know that I would have had the guts to do CRAVE, but I have to thank you for having the guts to do it. It was terrific.”
Earlier this week, I got an email from a subscriber about how he genuinely loved the play, but his wife didn’t. They sat for two hours over dinner talking about the play and their opposing viewpoints. Nothing is more thrilling! This is what theater is about – and CRAVE has gotten people to talk, discuss, complain, and invest their emotions.
It's terrific to hear people respond to this special, unique play. It makes me proud of the different experiences we give our audience. I think we did our job.
Congrats to an excellent design team and cast. First rate work. I'm proud of you all.
