JUMPING ALONG

I love watching a show come together during previews. Last night’s show of MERRILY was a huge jump for everyone. In the afternoon before the show, we did a bunch of notes and adjustments. As you turn one little screw it affects everything with the entire production.

The show was much tighter last night and more emotional on all levels. One woman sitting in front of me said, "I think it’s going backwards but now it may move forwards."

We're also doing a new curtain call tonight as well. It's an important part for the show and we have been trying different versions. The audience responses have been very encouraging. Sometimes the show moves them to tears. The publicity photos of the show are stunning - you realize how rich the design elements are on this show.

And, THE WORD BEGINS is in rewrite mode right now. It is great to see these guys get so passionate about every single word that is spoken. You realize how important words and language are. Each day I get more excited about this world premiere. It is going to be something so unique and exciting.
