THIRD TIME'S A CHARM

MERRILY rolled right along last night — it was terrific. We cut over two minutes off the running time and made some scene adjustments that all worked great. The cast was jazzed, the audience was very responsive, and everything clicked! The show is running 2 hours 15 minutes plus intermission which is exactly where I wanted it to be. We're adding a new prop to the top of the second act tonight that we will tech today. And then, we’ll “freeze” the show. So no more changes after tonight.

THE WORD BEGINS continues to grow and change. By the weekend, the cast will start getting on their feet and staging the show. The set and costume designer, Myung Hee Cho, is with us for two days to work out some specific design options.

And don’t forget we have our first cabaret of the season, THE LOST SONGS OF BROADWAY, next week, September 12-15. And the cast — Priscilla Cuellar, Matt Pearson, and Lauren Williams, has been rehearsing, rehearsing, rehearsing. It’s wonderful hearing these lost songs from the 20's and 30's.
