INISHMORE REHEARSAL NOTES

As is standard in the theater community, INISHMORE Production Stage Manager Kate Olden sends a reports at the end of each rehearsal updating the creative team on any positives, negatives, posing questions, providing feedback, and so on. I just wanted to share some of the fun and more interesting notes that have come out of rehearsals.

August 31
  • We learned a lot about fake body parts today. General note is that there should be wooden dowels (to stand in for bones) in the spots where the actors cut.
  • Is it possible for the cross to be removed and then stabbed back into Christy's chest plate in Sc. 9?

September 3
  • FYI, the bike is knocked over roughly three times in Sc. 3. It is also battered with the butt of the air rifle and kicked by Mairead. The tassles and basket should be easily removable.
  • Eileen will be ready for blood tests this weekend with Dale. Most of this week she is working on bodies. She will get samples to costumes for them to test on fabrics.
  • Our faulty 9mm has been fixed by a gunsmith and returned.
  • Standing and sitting on the Christy chest shell may preclude it looking as natural as we would like. Jeremy will continue to think about what he wants to prioritize in this moment, the look or the action.
  • The orange cat is still being thrown.

September 4
  • REMINDER: We need to be able to hang Jason Stiles upside down by noon tomorrow!

September 5
  • Thanks for the awesome rehearsal rig and education in suspending people by their ankles!

September 6
  • The cross does not need to be stabbed back into Christy's chest plate. Maybe the bottom part folds so that it looks like it's deeper in his chest than it really is?
  • The orange cat is no longer motorized. Instead it will be manipulated as much as possible by the actors.
  • Please add to the fake Brendan body a place on the left arm where Davey can break through the radius and ulna.

September 13
  • We only have one orange cat right?
  • We want to order the Texas ammo. We'll have numbers to give you tomorrow for all ammo.

INISHMORE previews begin tonight. Come see what truly happens to that orange cat.
